To accurately measure the area of a home’s elevation for the installation of faux stone siding, begin by calculating the width and height of each wall, excluding any window areas. Simply multiply the width by the height to obtain the total square footage. For windows, measure their width and height, multiply to find their area, and subtract this from the wall’s total area to ensure they are excluded from the final calculation.
For gable areas, which are triangular, you’ll need a slightly different approach. Measure the width of the gable and its height, from the base to the peak. Calculate the area by using the formula for the area of a triangle: Which would be the width multiplied the gable height then divided by 2 or 1/2 the width times the height.
Add your final number(s) for all elevations as outlined above into the Total Square Foot Area Box to retrieve your project’s total panels.
